Yesterday I was given an API key, so I’ll start on reworking LiveStock to make use of that. Current balance and (unordered) recent downloads can come through the API, but details of individual downloads will still have to come from web scraping. I’m not sure that what I was doing was dumb, but I did a major rework of the internals to do the page parsing in a much dirtier way and that gave a massive speedup. Thankfully! It was really pretty horrible. Now it’s very reasonable.

Released the first beta of LiveStock on the iStock forums a week ago. I’ve been using it all the time since before then and I’m really pretty happy with how it’s been working out. I’m liking Android development much more than the Sidekick development I did.
