Summer at last!

It’s the end of January.  Why is the heather blooming?
I was out at the Necropolis this morning and thought I might find some snowdrops, or maybe some very early crocus.  Heather in bloom…that seems a bit broken.  Pretty, but broken.

Christmas

Girdle Stanes

The Girdle Stanes are just a spit away from the Loupin Stanes in my last post. Twenty-some stones in a semi-circle. They used to be forty-some stones in a circle, but the river flowing through the middle of the circle might give a clue as to the whereabouts of the other half!
