Real castles around here are often just a stronger building than your neighbours have and owned by the mediaeval chappie with the most sheep and largest bit of swamp. Stirling Castle, however…that looks like a proper castle. I was over in Stirling last week and the sun came out.

Hiked up Ben Ime (just behind The Cobbler in the Arrochar Alps) yesterday. From the top you look down on Loch Lomond, Loch Arklet and Loch Katrine. The forecast was all grey and rainy…oh how wrong it was! Oh the view!

Mugdock Park’s just north of Glasgow. I went looking for interesting scenery and found a baby common toad in the grass (which I guess is like a snake-in-the-grass but with legs???)
