Mulling over the weather

I’ve been watching the BBCs weather web site for a few days because tomorrow I’m taking the train up to Oban, then the ferry to Craignure, then cycling around Mull until Monday.
The weather here this week has been mostly torrential rain and very strong winds. And the forecast for Mull this weekend has been [...]

Year of Wonders

Well I’ve been self-employed for a year now, and I’ve finished my year-in-the-park photography project. Maybe it’s time to rename this journal.
Hopefully it’s not considered cheating if I go down to the park and take some more pictures, despite the year being over. I went down there this morning. The forget-me-nots are [...]

Comics

I’ve been reading Neil Gaiman’s Journal for quite a while. Longer than I’ve been reading his fiction, actually. He talks about his experience of writing and things relating to it in ways that I find both interesting and useful. After a while I read and enjoyed a few of his books, but [...]

We had a great sky. Actually, we had the great sky!

Hadrian’s Wool?

If you’re going to get away from the wicked things, you’re best advised to go somewhere as beautiful as this or you’d just never be able to get [...]

Sunrise at Achavanich

After taking Brian to the airport I still had a couple of days with the hire car. So I headed off up north to Sutherland and Caithness. Took lots of photos of stone circles and cairns and similar old toot.
The advantage of sleeping in the car is that the early light wakes me. [...]

Necropolis

Brian and I went down to the Necropolis tonight. Nice sky. Beautiful light. A rainbow. My guest has brought ideal photography weather with him.
